The Ministry of Health & Social Welfare (MOHSW) has reported a new case of Ebola in Liberia.

Summary, as of April 13, 2014

  • New suspected/ probable cases reported: 1
  • New deaths: 1
  • Cumulative number of suspected/ probable and confirmed cases: 26
  • Cumulative number of suspected/ probable and confirmed deaths: 13
  • Cumulative number of confirmed deaths: 6

The new suspected case and death was reported in Margibi County but the majority of cases and deaths are from Lofa County.

MOHSW continues to hold daily task force meetings under the leadership of the Chief Medical Officer at the national level and County Superintendents at the county level in Bong, Margibi, Montserrado, Cape Mount, Lofa, and Nimba. The Foya Task Force met with international staff from CDC, USAID and MSF to assess the magnitude of the situation and response capacities and capabilities.
