New Release: 2013 UNICEF/ Oxfam WASH Baseline Study
As part of the Accelerating Sanitation and Water for All program and partnership between the Government of the Netherlands, UNICEF Liberia and the Government of Liberia, a WASH Baseline Study was conducted from July to October 2013 in 25 administrative districts and 5 cities in Liberia. A total of 954 households were interviewed and 403 community members participated in focus group discussions. It provides data on community access to and practices related to WASH.
Objectives of the study were to:
- identify current levels of community access to and practices related to WASH facilities;
- provide information on people’s knowledge, attitude and practices that will allow the development of programme’s Behavioral Change and Communication/ Communication for Development activities; and
- provide disaggregated data and information on programme indicators in both rural and urban contexts.
