Water point management

The development of Liberia depends on the availability of safe and clean water for all Liberians. To achieve this goal the government is in the process of formulating various strategies that will enable us to provide enough water for all. One such strategy is the mobilisation of the community in the organisation and management of their water through water point committees. This page gives on overview of the availability and functionality of the WASH committees in Liberia.

The table below shows the relation between maintenance type and functionality of the water point. The table shows that privately owned water points have the highest percentage fully functioning, with most of the other types between 60-65%. Water points that are reported to have no management score the lowest, with only 40.2% functioning.
